About Devon Scott

I have lived in Wilmington, NC since 1996. I moved here with my family from Brooklyn, NY and began classes at New Hanover High School. Involved in ROTC, Mock Trial, and the Environmental Club, I maintained my grades though advanced classes and the Lyceum educational program.

Graduating in 2000, I continued to study at UNC Chapel Hill and Cape Fear Community College in Wilmington taking courses in computer science and philosophy. While earning my associates, I freelanced for small businesses building web software and deploying technological strategies. Later I worked with several digital agencies as Lead Developer creating dynamic websites and rich internet applications.

About Devon Scott 3

I founded a tech consultancy in Wilmington, NC focusing on digital technology decisions for startups and the health and wellness industries with applications including end-of-life care and digital nutrition management. It’s been my privilege to work with exciting businesses from developing local banking software start-up nCino‘s website to sitting as the lead software developer for Wilmington pet healthcare technology startup Petrics, Inc., among others.

Most recently I’ve found myself focused on Wilmington economic development. As a volunteer and facilitator with StepUp Wilmington (previously Phoenix Hometown Hires) and a board director for the Cape Fear Economic Development Council, I did my part to help. I actively engage with the Network for Entrepreneurs in Wilmington and also founded Eidolon Institute, an agency focused on helping regional start-ups focused on sustainable innovations establish themselves.

I’ve been devoted to serving Wilmington having acted as a performer in local arts, a speaker at TEDx Airlie, a frequent volunteer, and in developing tools to serve the city such as my Hurricane Florence housing relief software platform. I am humbled to take the role most recently called upon to contend for Mayor of Wilmington. It would be my honor to continue the work I’ve been engaged in to push initiatives that improve Wilmington putting her citizens first.
